Lake Mburo NPK, compared to other parks in Uganda is rather small (over 260km); but its size makes a more exciting park to tour – the park boasts of large varieties of wild life. Giraffes, buffalos, You will not miss antelopes like Bushbucks, Topi, Deffassa waterbuck, reedbuck. Two primates; olive baboons and velvet monkeys are common sightings. Some species like the impala and elands can only be found here in the southwest part of the country. You will be welcomed by a herd of zebras grazing at the park’s gate (Lake Mburo has the highest number of Zebras, followed by Kidepo valley national and pian up - all in far North eastern party of county)! At night its common to hear Hyena calls. On a lucky day, chances of spotting Leopards despite being elusive behavior.

This tour can either start in Kabale or Kampala - Uganda or Kigali - Rwanda Additional accommodation before and at the end of the tour can be arranged for extra cost! Lodging mentioned in the itinerary depends on availability of rooms available at the time of booking. Reservations will only be made after your confirmed booking with us. Budget option: Accommodation on this safari is safari tents under grass thatched roof with twin beds, including bedding, but is either self-contained or with shared bathroom facilities depending on availability. Eagles Nest Camp or Leopard Rest Camp.
Luxury option: Accommodation is based on en-suite / self-contained rooms with swimming pool; Inclusive of Full Board at Rwakobo Rock lodge.


Detailed Itinerary
Lake Mburo Safari
Our driver will pick you up at 6.30am from your hotel or apartment in Kabale, Kampala or Kigali, transfer you to Lake Mburo National Park. We check in at the camp.
4pm, we head go for a boat cruise, we have an evening game drive as we transfer back to the camp and with a bit of luck maybe a leopard.
Budget: Eagles Nest camp / Leopard Rest Camp.
Luxury: Rwakobo Rock
Today we have morning game drive popular sightings include Bush bucks, waterbucks, Eland, buffalo, zebra, impalas, Topi, Giraffes.
Optional safari activities;
Guided Biking safari outside park – Stretch your legs and get off the beaten track with our 2 hour biking safari around the local village with local guide. Chances of finding Ankole long horned cows. This costs $25 per person.
Guided Biking Safari inside the park– Explore Lake Mburo National Park by bike! This 2 hour safari is perfect for game viewing without the vehicle. This starts at park gate and you will be guided by an UWA ranger, you will set the pace and you will have lots of opportunities to get up close to the animals for viewing and photography!. This costs $50 per person.
Walking Safari – Get up close and personal with nature and explore Lake Mburo National Park on foot! This 2 hour walking safari starts at park entrance Gate and you will be guided by an UWA Ranger into the park for great game viewing. There’s plenty of time to go at your own pace and enjoy the animals. Don’t forget some sturdy shoes and the camera! This walking safari starts at 7am ends at 9am local time. Costs: $30 per person.
We have lunch at 3pm we transfer back to Kabale or Kampala/Entebbe
