Need To Know

On Day 12 there is an option of, flying on a small plane on scheduled flight for shorter time (2 hours) from Murchison falls NPK to Kasese airstrip and get picked by our driver guide.

Lodging mentioned in the itinerary depends on availability of rooms available at the time of booking. Reservations will only be made after your confirmed booking with us.

At the time of your booking, in the event that listed hotels are fully booked, we will do our best to inform you and book a different hotel in the same class.

Gorilla permits can only be secured after receiving the requested deposit.

The chimp tracking may take place either in the morning or afternoon, depending on the availability of chimp permits.

Detailed Itinerary

Am transfer to Jinja, no stop on the way, we will see plenty of falls and animals later on, visit source of the Nile gardens, Mahatma Gandhi Monument, Speke Monument, war cemetery, Owen Falls dam,… 

At Jinja the Nile River begins its journey from Lake Victoria all the way up to the Mediterranean Sea. Many activities are available around town (see options in Day 3) though please note that all activities today are at your own expense.

The Sipi River flows over the foothills of Mount Elgon, forming a spectacular series of   waterfalls (some 90m high), surrounded by village walking trails and lush green coffee-producing hills.   Evening go for coffee tour around the village.

Walk through a series of 3 beautiful falls. After you will transfer to Moroto the heart of the Karamoja region. Drive time 4 to 5 hours.

Visit Nakapelimoru  (the biggest manyatta community) The Karamojong live in a Kraal, better known as Manyatta or Boma in Swahili. A Kraal is basically a village made out of huts surrounded by fences made of wood and thorns to keep the cattle in and to protect them against rivaling tribes and wild animals. Some of Kraals are permanent and others are temporarily as the karamojong follow the fresh grass to feed their cattle. The Karamojong are related to the Maasai in Kenya and live a similar lifestyle.

Out of Kotido town is Nakapelimoru Manyattas, said to be the largest village settlement in East Africa with over 10000 people. with a local site guide. Learn the art of entering these tiny huts with a small entry.

If it this day appears on a Wednesday, you will experience a very authentic and unique visit. visit Wednesday cattle market. you’ll have the chance to experience an authentic Karamojong cattle market on Wednesday.

Today you will travel to Kidepo valley N.P. A long but rewarding drive will take you passed one of the most beautiful scenery in Uganda. After this thrilling experience it is time to enter into the most remote and pristine national park in the country, The park has some of the most amazing scenery in the country! For many people this is the most beautiful park of Uganda. This park has been featured on CNN as probably one of the beautiful parks in Africa, ‘with spectacular landscapes and great buffalo herds’.

Overnight: Kidepo savannah lodge

Look out for zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions and leopards. This is also the only place in Uganda where you can find the cheetah and ostrich.

Kidepo is famous for its lions relaxing on the rocks – a scene which may remind you of a certain Disney film. You might even be very lucky to spot a leopard or cheetah! Besides the 4×4 safaris you can also take a bush walk in the park with an armed ranger.

Early morning drive to Kanangorok hot springs and search for ostriches, then do an evening game drive around around Narus valley and head back to  lodge.

Today you transfer from Kidepo south to Murchison falls national park- Uganda’s largest National park.

Overnight: Kabalega Wilderness lodge / Pakuba Safari lodge

Depart for early (6.30 am) game drive. Enjoy a 3 hour game safari, keep an eye out for the elephants, leopards, lions, warthogs and giraffes as well as large herds of animals such as oribi, Hartebeest, Kobs and buffalo, but please note – some wild animals like leopards, lions can be elusive ! –   nothing is guaranteed though our guides will maximize chances of these cat sightings! You’ll then have time to stop for your lunch by the river Nile.

At 2 pm we depart for a 3 hour boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the bottom of Murchison falls. Along the way, you’ll be passing large numbers of giant Nile crocodiles, schools of hippos, vast range of birdlife. Enjoy this breathtaking scenery.  disembark & walk to the top of the falls.Pick up by driver

Today we take a morning boat ride to the delta; this sails downstream on the Victoria Nile into Lake Albert, begins at 7.30am to 11am. It is a very pleasant nature ride, to and from that is truly game-filled. The birds love the riverine mash, as do the big game and big reptiles to the riverbanks. This is where the typical giant Nile Crocodiles, endless schools of Hippopotami reside. look out for Grey-headed Bush-shrikes, Saddle-billed Stork, Little Bittern and Shoebill. Afternoon relaxation at the lodge.

Today the hotel will transfer you to airstrip on time to take a local flight at 12.00 to Kasese Airstrip. From Kasese Airport, our driver will bring you to your lodge in Kibale forest National Park.

Flight duration: 1 hour.30 minutes.
Transfer to Lodge: 1 hour.30 minutes.

Overnight: Kibale Forest Camp or Upgrade to Primate lodge.

Kibale Forest National Park boasts the highest number of primate species in the world, including the chimpanzees. Approximately 5,000 chimpanzees live in the wild in Uganda, which makes it a perfect place to spot them! Today you will experience some monkey experiences!

An park ranger will take you chimp tracking in the morning or afternoon; you might also see other monkey species that live here. Once you locate the chimpanzee you will have a full hour of eye-to-eye contact with them. Since they are wild animals, we can never guarantee you to see them and might have to settle with hearing their hoots and hollers.

 After lunch, your Bigodi community  walk (2-3 hours) will take you through grassland, small communities and some beautiful scenery,  visit women weaving centre, traditional healer and Banana local beer production. It is usual to spot three to four different primate species during this walk.

Optional: Chimpanzee Habituation tracking:

At an additional fee of only $70 us dollar pp you  do the chimpanzee habituation tracking instead of the regular chimpanzee tracking. This will take all day and you will be 100% sure to have a very close encounter with your closest relatives. Book this in time because only 6 persons per day are allowed to go. Your Bigodi community swamp walk can be postponed to the next morning.

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Queen Elizabeth is Uganda’s second largest park, located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, adjacent to Lake Edward and Lake George. The park has prolific game, including gazelle, Uganda kob, warthog and waterbuck. Lions are often sighted both in and at the entrance to the park. In the late afternoon you will go for a game-drive into the park.

Watch wildlife from your verandah and fall asleep to the roaring of Lions on the distant savannah. This truly is Africa!

In the afternoon –  2pm boat cruise safari tour on Kazinga channel.

This is probably the most amazing combination of spectacular water birds ( residents and migrants) teaming with wildlife on Kazinga channel. Along the channel, local people are seen loading their canoes, fetching water as  buffalos wallowing , Elephants shower, Hippos roam around, crocodiles basking on the same banks . unbelievable life at the fishing village. Tones of storks, spoonbills, cormorants, kingfishers, lapwings, pelicans. You can expect to see buffalo, crocodile, bathing elephant, and a range of beautiful birds. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour complimenting wildlife seen on game drive.

Overnight: Ihamba lakeside Safari Lodge/ Mazike Valley Lodge

After transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park Bwindi has 20 habituated gorilla families that can be viewed by visitors. Each group can be visited by a maximum of 8 people per day. Gorilla tracking starts at 4 different gates; either at Buhoma,Ruhija, Rushaga or Nkuringo. These are separated by a long meandering road- route. Please note overnight stay will be determined by the location of the gorilla permits available at the time of booking. These families are separated by a meandering route.

After an early breakfast, gather packed lunch and go to park gate for gorilla-trek briefing which starts at 8:00 am. Start gorilla trekking thereafter. The time taken to track gorillas varies, from as little as half an hour to as much as 8 hours before one returns to lodge. The activity can be both hard and soft adventure. Altitude spans 1,160 to 2,407m. The terrain is sometimes tough, although the hike is physically demanding; the panoramic scenery and forest make the trekking worthwhile. Finally seeing these gentle giants is an exciting wildlife encounter Uganda has to offer. It can rain at any minute’s notice; hence waterproof clothing is essential including ZIP bags for cameras.

After trekking, our driver/guide will  transfer you to Lake Bunyonyi for a relaxed evening.

Today we have optional activities to choose from or simply relax at the lodge.

1, Take a motorized boat ride to punishment island – Look out  for “akampene” – the punishment Island – where until 1940’s unmarried pregnant girls were dropped and left to die helplessly or starve to death, some drown trying to swim ashore; they were often saved my poor men who could not afford pride price. It was a taboo to  pregnant before the recommended marriage age.

2, Take a boat ride to traditional healer’s village.  Experience how traditional african medicine is integrated into modern medicine. The healer not only treats the sick, but uses his knowledge to conserve and educate about the various medicinal plants if time.

Today we transfer to Lake Mburo national park, we check into our lodge.

Lake Mburo NPK, compared to other parks in Uganda is rather small (over 260km); but its size makes a more exciting park to tour – the park boasts of large varieties of wild life. Giraffes, buffalos,    You will not miss antelopes like Bushbucks, Topi, Defassa waterbuck, reedbuck. Two primates; olive baboons and velvet monkeys are common sightings. Some species like the impala and elands can only be found here in the southwest part of the country.

There are opportunities for a night game drive to experience animal life at night.

At night its common to hear Hyena calls, bush babies. on a lucky day,  chances of spotting Leopards despite being elusive behavior.

Optional: night game drive $30 per person from 7pm to 10pm.

Overnight: Rwakobo Rock

Today we head out for a walking Safari – Get up close and personal with nature and explore Lake Mburo National Park on foot! This 2 hour walking safari starts at park entrance Gate and you will be guided by an UWA Ranger into the park for great game viewing. There’s plenty of time to go at your own pace and enjoy the animals. Don’t forget some sturdy shoes and the camera! This walking safari starts at 7am ends at 9am local time. Costs: $30 per person

 Today transfer to Entebbe town. Stop at equator, drum factory, 

Overnight: Karibu Hotel

Meal plan: Full Board (B,L,D)

7am, transfer for one hour to lake Victoria, mash at mabamaba bay, get on a motorized canoe. The boats captained by local fishermen who guide around the mash searching for shoebill. Activity can take about 4 hours. After transfer for flight. Please note outbound flight must be leaving evening after 16.00 hours
