What you will see on Ugandan Safari will totally blow your mind. Uganda offers a nice diversity of wildlife Safaris. Uganda is a colourful country full described: a green and fertile land of high plateaus, luxuriant forests, papyrus-fringed lakes and great swamps.
It is also a land of contrasts. Here one can see the vast inland sea known as Lake Victoria, and papyrus swamps where the bizarre and endangered Shoebill can still be found. The white Nile river starts here connecting to the Savanah plains of Murchison falls National Park, filled with antelopes, buffalo and elephants can be viewed – an amazing wildlife viewing paradise.
The country is endowed with 10 national parks and some of the wildlife in these national parks is unique only to this part of the world.
There is the tree climbing lions in Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park in South Western Uganda. These rare lions can be seen lying on tree branches during a morning game drive. They have become a popular tourist attraction for tourists going to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
The mountain gorilla is another major attraction for tourists travelling in this region. However this activity is subject to gorilla permit availability and only 8 people can trek each gorilla family per day. Currently, there are 19 gorilla families available for trekking in Bwindi Forest and Mgahinga National Parks. And accessing these parks is quite easy: you can get there either by road or charter flights.
For the bird lover, Uganda is ranked among the world’s best birding places. The beauty of bird watching here is it can be done anywhere; or can easily be included within any other activity for example a game drive or boat cruise on the River Nile. Most of the birding hotspots here are within the wildlife national parks. Uganda has one of the most exciting selections of forest birds in Africa.
Your tour to this wonderful country is almost incomplete if you don’t get to visit the “Primate capital of the world”- Kibale Forest National Park. Chimpanzees and 12 other primates like the Rod colobus, L’hoest monkey and the endemic Uganda Mangabey call this forest home. Get to track chimpanzees in the most magnificent tropical rainforest in Uganda.
Experience snow at the Equator with a mountain climbing challenge up the Rwenzoris (the mountains of the moon) in the backdrop – the Ruwenzori mountains is Africa’s third highest mountain. However, the real beauty is in the climb up to the Margherita peak.
BIG 5 safaris, amazing boat cruises, city tours, Source of the Nile Adventure and meeting warm and welcoming locals make Uganda stand out as a dream destination for many travelers.
“Lastly I can’t tell you how wonderful I have found the people of Uganda, happy and smiling all the time” Arshely Boone.
