The Grey Crown Crane – Uganda’s national bird, flies proudly everywhere. You will meet ‘the most thought-after species’, including the Shoebill, Green-breasted Pitta, African Finfoot, Rwenzori Nijars, Shelly’s Crimsonwing, Regal Sunbird, Grauer’s broadbill on a 14-day tour.

Uganda prides itself on its rich diversity of habitats; tropical freshwater lakes, swamps, mash, tropical forests and many vegetation zones along the equator line make Uganda a flyway stop for over 5 million migrant birds from the northern hemisphere.
The rich biodiversity in bird life is reflected in the number of birds per square km making it rank among the richest countries worldwide in terms of birds. Uganda’s checklist (now 1080 species) has two-thirds of species that are found nowhere else but in western Uganda including 24 bird endemics to the Albertine Rift Valley.
