2 Days Murchison Falls Safari Uganda to Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest national park and very rich in wildlife, with the famous Rive Nile, one of the world’s longest rivers flowing through.

The activities in this park include game safari (elephants, kob, buffalo, lions, giraffes and even the elusive leopard) boat cruise (hippos, Nile crocodiles, water birds, get up-close to the spectacular falls), and hiking to the famous waterfalls of the River Nile. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala to Murchison falls safari – Boat cruise

Our driver/guide will pick you from your Hotel or other residence in Kampala/Entebbe at 6am in a customized pop-top 4WD safari van. Transfer to Murchison falls national park, driving through Budongo forest, home of chimpanzees, monkeys, baboons. And forest bird species.

The forest is home to a big population of chimpanzees, Budongo is also the biggest tropical rainforest, with an abundance of large East African mahogany trees (some more than 80m tall, with a 20m circumference. You will have a lunch stop before the river Nile at red chili restaurant.

At 2:00PM, you will depart for a 3hour boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the bottom of Murchison falls. A cruise along the nile reveals a large numbers of giant Nile crocodiles, schools of hippos, vast range of birdlife. Enjoy this breathtaking scenery. The Nile, the world’s longest river is squeezed through 7m wide gap before crushing deep, exploding at the bottom.

After an hour and half, your boat will stop at a landing and you will get on hike to the Top of the Falls ( 1 hour) , view of the mighty Murchison Falls, the point where 300 cubic meters of River Nile is squeezed through such a tiny gap, plunging 42m deep making one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world.

What a stunning sight, foaming, crashing nile river water rushing through narrow channels of stone and plunging down into a curving stretch of river below, silvery in the mid-day light.

The payoff is a killer view back toward the falls, and down the Nile in another direction as your eye can see. A vivid rainbow arced right across the plunging spray of the falls. You will be thrilled by this magical place and so glad that you need another day.

Your driver/guide will pick you from ‘Top of falls’ and drive you to lodge for an overnight.

Along the drive you will be viewing lherds of buffalo, elephants, wharthogs, giraffes, Antelopes like Uganda kobs, lelwels Hartebeests, oribi.  Check in at the camp/lodge. Look out for resident warthogs, and other wildlife around the camp! Enjoy dinner and drinks and weather permitting on a camp fire.

Tip: At 3840km², the is the largest national park in Uganda and is home to 76 species of mammals and 481 birds. Was first gazzetted in 1926 as a game reserve and elevated to a national park in 1952. It is Uganda’s oldest and largest conservation area. The northern section of the park has savanna vegetation, borassus palms, acacia trees and riverine woodland. The south is dominated by forest patches and woodlands

Day 2: Murchison falls national park, Game drive safari, transfer to Kampala

Depart for early (6.30 am) game drive. Enjoy a 3hour game safari, keep an eye out for the elephants, leopards, lionas, warthogs and giraffes as well as large herds of animals such as oribi, Hartebeets, Kobs and buffalo, but please note – some wild animals like leopards can be elusive! – Nothing is guaranteed though our guides will maximize chances of these cat sightings! On a lucky day there are chances of spotting leopard. You’ll then have time to stop for your lunch. After your driver will transfer you back to Kampala.

After early breakfast, your guide will transfer you to south of Murchison falls
