Two weeks in the amazing Ugandan wilderness My recent two week trip to Uganda organised by Diane from Chigo Tours Africa was truly the best tour I have ever been on. Using their 12 Days Gorilla, Chimps, Monkeys and Adventure Safari as a guide Diane helped me to arrange a bespoke tour that suited my specific interest in Wildlife Conservation. This enabled me to not only see the amazing wildlife and natural environment of Uganda but to also meet with and accompany local conservationists and rangers who shared their knowledge and experiences in the field. As an example I spent some time at the Gorilla Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH) Camp which I highly recommend and later also had the opportunity to meet with one of the Gorilla Doctors. I spent several hours tracking Gorillas and then Chimpanzees with rangers, I visited the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary and discussed the work they do for orphan chimpanzees with the head ranger, I fed giraffes and patted Rhinos at the wonderful Uganda Wildlife Education CentreIn particular my guide for the two weeks, Martin, shared his expert knowledge and ensured I had a diverse and rich experience throughout my time. He was able to tailor the days to suit my interests and made sure I felt relaxed and comfortable as we journeyed into the unbelievable wilderness.All the accomodation arranged for me was eco friendly and based on sustainable principles. The staff at Jetvillas, Bweza Gorilla Lodge, The Bush Lodge, Kibale Forest Lodge and finally Fort Murchison were all lovely, welcoming and professional and the food and rooms were unique and gorgeous. The settings were extraordinary including those within National Parks.My trip to Uganda organised by Chigo Tours was really very special and unique and I loved every minute of it.

Pearl of a journey Our 18-day trip through Uganda was unforgettable! At the holiday fair we had first contact with Martin, who managed to get us completely excited. We have absolutely no regrets about our choice! From the first contact, communication was clear and fast. We got our Guide Joseph with us, who took great care of us the whole trip. He knows everything about the land and the animals, especially the birds, and does everything to ensure that his guests lack nothing. The accommodations were beautiful, the food was everywhere above expectations and the planned excursions were all worthwhile. Making amazing Ugandan and Rwandan memories! We’ve just finished two weeks as a family exploring Rwanda and Uganda. The tour was organised by Chigo Tours, an excellent Kampala- based travel company. From the first enquiry, Diane could not have been more helpful or knowledgeable. She was very responsive (replying within hours to every question) and nothing was too much trouble. She arrange the most wonderful two week itinerary through which we had “once in a lifetime” experiences nearly every day, from seeing gorillas to rhino tracking to safaris to seeing the Nile and the amazing Murchison Falls. Chigo have close relationships with the communities we visit meaning authentic experiences which have a positive impact. Martin, our guide, was equally brilliant. Knowledgeable, friendly, reliable, flexible, fun and a very good driver, it was a pleasure to spend two weeks in his company. Amazing Ugandan Tourism Experience Martin was an amazing guide. He has been in the tourism field for more than 20 years and him and his team are very experienced. He helped customize two tours in Uganda for our group 1) gorilla trekking and 2) safari. With Martin and luck on our side, we were able to see many gorillas, lions, buffalo, elephants, hippos, leopard, various birds and natural foliage. Amazing Tour Guides I cannot say enough good things about my time using Chigo tours. I traveled to Uganda with a group of 8 for a program through our medical school.Our goal was to visit healthcare clinics to learn about rural medicine. Our guides were Martin and Obed and they were incredible! They made sure we were safe, helped coordinated visits to locations we wanted to see and were so knowledgeable about all the animals and birds along the way. Martin and Obed were both involved in Gorilla trekking in the past and managed to help us get tickets so we were able to experience seeing the Silverback gorillas.It was an incredible adventure and I cannot wait to go back. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to visit Uganda!
